Regular damage to the 16th Century bridge in the centre of the village crossing the River Avon from lorries that are too long and catch the parapet causing severe damage to this ancient bridge. It is already single carriageway across the bridge. As the bridge is made of traditional materials once hit it cannot be repaired until after the last frost. This traffic has grown with the expansion of Dyson at Hullavington and sat nav takes unsuitable lorries over the bridge some having to try and turn in a very precarious manner putting villages properties at risk. We need to identify a solution that will protect the bridge over the long term. The council incurs high cost to repair this every year and the offenders are not found.
